Do you love the peacefulness and quiet of rural village life in the Eifel, but don’t want to be too far away from tourist destinations and city life? Do you enjoy the spectacular views of the river Moselle and want to take advantage of everything nature has to offer? Then you have come to the right place!
In the small Eifel village of Kail with its 300 inhabitants – right on the Moselsteig Trail – you will find all of that, and much more. Dense forests, sweeping fields and gorgeous nature are right on your doorstep. The Moselle is only 2.4 miles away and is easily accessible by car, as are the shops and grocery stores of Treis-Karden (4 miles) and Kaisersesch (7 miles). Our newly renovated and fully furnished holiday flat with approx. 75 m² (bedroom, bathroom, with adjacent living room, generous eat-in kitchen) is perfectly suited for two people. Renovated with environmentally friendly building materials, the flat’s open floor plan combines the charm of old country houses with modern and comfortable amenities. Situated on the ground floor, the apartment has a separate entrance and provides parking for one car. It is senior friendly and mostly accessible.
The living room offers a large, comfortable sitting area where you can enjoy your evening in front of the wood-burning stove – that’s if you don’t want to take advantage of the large lounge in the (shared) adjacent garden! The large 2-person waterbed (with separate chambers, each with their own adjustable heating) will make your night comfortable and warm. Special bed linen is provided, or else the bed will be made up and ready for you to sleep when you arrive. The bathroom is easily accessible with a walk-in shower, toilet and wash basin. Towels are provided and changed weekly for longer occupancy. A flow heater provides plenty of hot water.
In the large and fully equipped kitchen, you can cook to your heart’s content with fresh local ingredients and enjoy your meal at the comfortable dining table with a wood fire crackling in the stove. Whether you want to use the ceramic hob, the oven, or the microwave for a quick snack, the kitchen provides you with everything you need. And if you don’t feel like cooking, the next restaurant is just 3 miles away! A large refrigerator with a separate freezer (3 compartments) keeps your groceries cold and fresh. If you wish, we will make sure it is filled with the basics when you arrive (at an additional cost) so that you don't have to go shopping for groceries on the first day. And if you enjoy fresh eggs, our hens will be happy to oblige you!
The apartment has an open living space concept with wood stove heating. There is a large wood-burning stove in the living room which also heats the bedroom, and another in the kitchen. Firewood and fuel are provided. Please note: Due to the furnishings and fittings, the apartment is not suitable for (small) children or pets. There is also a ban on smoking inside the apartment. If you wish to enjoy a cigarette (or just the country air), the garden’s spacious lounge will provide a comfortable and quiet place to relax.
Here in the country, there will be horses neighing, sheep bleating, chickens clucking and roosters crowing - every morning! In this rustic and idyllic environment, we look forward to welcoming you and making your stay as pleasant as possible!

Information concerning COVID-19
The flat has a separate entrance. When arriving or departing, please heed the covid regulations in force at the time. The flat will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before the next guest arrives. If you show signs of an infection, please let us know immediately and refrain from coming to stay at our flat. Should you develop symptoms during your stay, we would ask you to take appropriate steps (i.e. self-isolation, contacting the appropriate authorities or requesting a test) and to return home. In both cases, our cancellation terms will apply, so please contact your travel insurance to ensure that they will cover such costs.
